Goal posts: 2013 wrap-up

At the start of this year (or thereabouts), I identified five goals I wanted to achieve in 2013, and I've been reporting on them all year long. So, let's see how I did:

Home: Purchased, moved in. GOAL REACHED
Health: I was down by 15 pounds at one point, but with the move and all, I kind of feel off the Weight Watchers band wagon. I still think I'm in the 170s, but need to get refocused in 2014. STILL MORE TO DO
Writing: The mansucript for Pictures of You is going through final proofing and the cover art is almost finalized. Look for the book in the first quarter of 2014. 90 PERCENT REACHED
Work: New job secured in August and that helped me fuel my dreams for the home. Plus, I like it! GOAL REACHED
Relationship: Engaged! GOAL REACHED

Well, four out of five goals either achieved completely or close to final. I will count that as success!

Having said all that, my friend Psychic Sue came to visit the new house the other day and turned me on to a site that she subscribes to called the TUT's Adventures Club ( Every day you receive a message from "The Universe" (I know, this all sounds really New Agey, but I like it) and today's message was as follows:

I want you to know, Ted, that I've ordered up another year for you. Think I'll call it 2014.

I'm going to put most of the same people from 2013 in it, since you all think so much alike. But there'll also be a few new, very cool cats to play with--give them some time to grow up though.

And I'm going to start things off pretty much exactly where they left off in 2013, for continuity's sake. Flips folks out too much when I don't.

All in all 365 more days in paradise...and only one request of you: DREAM BIGGER.

Dream bigger than last year? Gulp! This is going to take a bit of thinking...

Happy new year, everyone! Hope everyone has a great 2014.
