I'd love to know what everyone is doing for Thanksgiving. If you think of it or read this, drop me a line and let me know, wouldja? It's going to be a hectic day.
For my part, the kids are being dropped off at eleven, and going to Josie's for dinner.
Ashes had asked why I no longer went to Josie's parents for Thanksgiving dinner. Knowing that Josie's dad doesn't really approve of me any more, I've been keeping my distance, although I adore her mother. But I decided to suck it up and ask whether it would be okay for me to come over for dessert, before I picked up the kids to take them to my parent's condo in Plymouth.
Imagine my surprise when Josie called and said that her FATHER personally invited me to come over for the whole dinner! That was really sweet, and I really started to get a bit emotional.
I'm actually still going to go, just for dessert, because I want to spend a few hours with Corb before he goes off to his brother's. And yes, his mother will be there. It was an uncertain thing, whether Corb would actually go, but in the end, his brother called and they talked things through, and my guy's going to be there, which makes me quite happy.
This is my family's first Thanksgiving without my grandmother. We're all going to be there, except for Laurie. Thanksgiving was the last time that I saw Nana healthy, and I am so grateful that we were able to share one last meal with her as a family. This time round, the absense of one very important person seated around the table is going to be acutely felt. I love you, Nan!
