I went out with Jason last night and watched Big Fish . Even though it received an 'orrible New York Times review, don't believe it. I personally found it to be a very enjoyable and visually stimulating movie. But then, I've always liked Tim Burton, with the exception of that abysmal Planet of the Apes thing. Ed Wood is his bestest, but this was very very good.

In fact, as we were walking out of the theater, I said to Jason, "I'm kind of disappointed." And he asked, "Why?"

"I don't have anything bad to say about that movie," I replied.

In fact, it reminded me of my dad, who is also a teller of tall tales, and someone who I wish I knew better. I was thinking I should invite my brother to go see "Big Fish" with me. It might provoke some interesting conversation.

Anyway, today has been Quote Day. For some reason, I've been collecting quotes like Howard Dean collects blogs. Here are my favorites..

From carolinamoon

"And what about curses and bad spells and hexes? Muslima was very precise. "None of that actually originates in Voodoo. But if you use any of this for negative purposes, remember that it always comes back to you."

And these, from a Vanity Fair article on Viggo Mortensen--who I CANNOT believe is 45...

"Seek not the favor of the multitude. It is seldom got by honest or lawful means. But seek the testimony of the few, and number not the voices but weigh them." Kant

"The privilege of a lifetime is being yourself." Joseph Campbell

And this, my favorite...

"There is no excuse to be bored. sad, yes. Angry, yes. Depressed, yes. Crazy, yes. But there is no excuse for boredom, ever."
