Animal reflections

Last night I walked out onto our deck to close a window (it's getting pretty chilly outside these past few nights!) As I opened the door, I noticed a small furry animal to my right, and assumed it was Ricky. I walked past it, closed the window, then turned to pet the animal, and only then realized that it was a skunk! He wobbled across the deck and disappeared into the night.

(I actually had a punch line to this story, but Josie has forbidden me to tell it...and I can't say that I blame her...)

I also decided last night, as I was walking our faithful dog Prince, that he is the best animal anyone could ask for in the world. Faithful, fearless, handsome. Never complains--and even if he did, he only speaks dog, so I wouldn't understand him anyway.

Went out last night to Union with Josie and our friend christopoopee. She had four toasted almonds, he had six martinis (altogether that night). I had two beers and a desire to talk on and on. The place was deader than an Andrews Sisters reunion tour. I prefer light and movement, although watching Chris play Twister in his underwear had its moments.
