This was really a terrific weekend for me.

Friday was my night to go out for the first time in a while (I usually go out on Saturdays), and I had two decisions: I could have chosen to go out with Eddie (a guy I've mentioned in past entries...our last date didn't go so well), or go out with a group of friends that I've made, and go to a club.

I chose the latter, and I'm glad that I did. I don't know, something just concerned me about the Eddie thing. Possibly it was the way things turned out last time, or the fact that he was pressuring me to ditch my friends (who I made plans with first), or a few other factors that I'd really rather not get into.

But it was fun just hanging out and laughing, and I'd do it again.

The next day, I slept late, and then set about working on the lighting design. Got through Act One, and then drove over to pick the kids up for the night. Yesterday, we went to the zoo and then I drove Tiger to Toys 'r' Us to pick up a new video game. After that, Josie came home from her new job and we ate supper as a family. She even baked a cake and everything.

Arrived home, worked on blocking for J & H, and then started talking with a guy in a similar situation to me--he has two kids and is in the process of divorcing. His relationship with his wife is less amicable than my relationship with Josie, however...makes me thankful for small miracles actually. Anyway, it was a good talk.

My favorite part of the evening was an old thing we've done for years ago. Around nine o'clock, Ashley and I hopped into bed in Josie's room, while Josie and Tiger went into the bathroom. I'd start telling a story, and Josie and Tiger would act out the sound effects that I'd work into the story. These stories always involve a monster that springs out of the bathroom at the end of the story, and the kids love it.

Definitely a happy space this past week-end! I want to stay inside this pocket universe as long as I can.
